Buses

A number of bus operators run bus services in, from and through Midlothian.

Full details are given in the Midlothian Travelmap published by the Council [latest printed edition - June 2009, latest online edition - June 2009] - see separate entry under "Travelmap" - click here:- Travelmap

Most bus services are operated commercially. This forms the basic network in the area.

However, there are gaps in this network of bus services in some areas and Midlothian Council gives financial support to certain routes that are operated by contract to Midlothian Council or neighbouring councils in order to plug those gaps.

The following routes are currently financially supported by Midlothian Council [5 March 2010]. The operator of these contracts is also shown - Eve's of Dunbar, First Borders, First Edinburgh, Lothian Buses, MacEwan's Coach Services of Dumfries or Munro's of Jedburgh.
