A Guide to Housing Options within Midlothian. Please select your choice of topic by clicking on the green boxes to the right of the page.
The Midlothian Housing Options Guide has been developed to assist customers, applicants, Midlothian Council Staff and other professionals to access a range of information on housing options within Midlothian. The guide also provides access to a range of voluntary and statutory agencies that provide care and support or practical help.
The Housing Option Guide gives information about provision of housing from the local authority, housing associations and private lets. It also provides useful links to internal and external web sites.
It is designed to be an easy-access, reference resource for agencies and individuals providing housing-related information and advice, as well as a brief guide for the general user to specific services available in their locality, with a directory of contacts who can provide further specialist advice.
While the information contained in this guide is intended to be of practical value, the message for all users, whatever their situation or intended housing option, is to seek expert advice and consult the appropriate services or agencies listed before committing themselves to any particular course of action.
The Housing Option Guide will be revised and updated regularly, to take into account improvements and any changes in policies and procedures. Shelter have also developed a new online advice service which contains over 600 pages of information on a wide range of housing related issues, including homelessness, finding and keeping a home, money matters, eviction and repossession.
