Disability Equality Scheme

Midlothian Council's Disability Equality Scheme helps to ensure the Council provides equality of opportunity as an employer and service provider.  The Scheme addresses:

  • how we intend to fulfil our duties under the disability equality regulations
  • our arrangements for gathering and using information, and for reviewing and preparing future schemes
  • how we assess the impact of our existing and proposed policies and practices
  • how disabled people have been involved in developing the scheme

The Scheme can be viewed here: Disability Equality Scheme 2009-12 (MS Word)

We have also produced an easy read version of the Scheme: Disability Equality Scheme Easy Read Version (MS Word)

An annual report is produced each year to ensure we deliver the Scheme.  The final annual report on the Council's previous Scheme is available here: Final Report Disability Equality Scheme 2006-09 (MS Word)
