Midlothian Council's Regeneration team are holding a 'Let's talk about the Danderhall Area' Open Day next week.

The Open Day, which is being held in conjunction with the Danderhall Big Picnic, will take place at Danderhall Leisure Centre from 12:00-15:00 on Friday 17 August, and everyone is welcome to come along.

Earlier this year our regeneration team asked local residents for their views on the Danderhall Neighbourhood Plan. The Open Day has been organised as a convenient follow-up way for Danderhall residents to have their say on local issues and find out more about local services. Experts from a range of local service providers will be on hand to provide information and answer questions from residents.

Cllr Cath Johnstone, Cabinet Member responsible for Neighbourhood Planning, said: "Our Open Day is a great opportunity for Danderhall residents to have their say and find out more about the issues which affect them - whether it's local bus services, dog fouling, waste and recycling or policing. I'm also sure many residents will wish to discuss the Borders Railway and related road and path changes."

It's free to attend the Open Day - for further information contact Louise McShane:

Over 20,000 people throughout the county gave a fantastic welcome to the Olympic Flame on 14 June, with many lining the streets as they enjoyed Midlothian's moment to shine.

Now there's another chance to remind yourself of that historic occasion, as we launch a travelling exhibition of photographs taken on the day of the Torch's journey through the county.
