Midlothian Economic Development Framework
Midlothian's strong representation in science and service sectors of the economy is also reflected, alongside other traditional strengths such as construction, in the Midlothian Economic Development Framework (MEDF). This sets out a vision and economic priorities for Midlothian, to be taken forward in partnership with key stakeholders. The ambition is to provide 10,000 new jobs in an integrated and vibrant economy by 2020.
The Framework highlights seven key sectors that are expected to play a major role in the future success of the Midlothian economy.
