Homelessness assessments

We have a legal duty to carry out a homelessness assessment which will look at the following points set out in the homeless legislation:

• Whether you are homeless, or are about to become homeless or it is not possible for you to stay in your home
• Whether or not you are intentionally homeless
• Whether or not you have a local connection with Midlothian

Your homelessness/advice officer will tell you about the homelessness assessment process. A decision will be made within 28 days.  You will be informed in writing.

You will also be provided with information and advice on agencies that may also help prevent you becoming homeless.
