Homelessness section 11 notice
What is a Section 11 notice?
Commencement of Section 11 of the Homelessness (Scotland) Act 2003.
From 1st April 2009, all Landlords and creditors will have a duty to inform the relevant local authority when they raise proceedings for possession of a property or serve certain notices relating to a mortgage.
This is to give local authorities early notice of households who may be at risk of homelessness due to eviction. This enables the local authority to offer advice and assistance and invites you to contact the council to discuss your situation.
If you have been contacted by Midlothian Council it is in your best interest to make an appointment with one of our officers to discuss your housing options and to try and stop homelessness.
