Midlothian Working for Families (WFF)
What does Working for Families offer, and to whom?
Working for Families aims to help parents move along the pathway to employment and will work with clients who need to build their confidence, or need help finding suitable childcare, want to try some volunteering or are having difficulties maintaining their job due to stresses in the household.
We Offer:
How we help you will depend on your circumstances but it could include:
- Help with finding childcare so that you can attend training or take up a job offer.
- Help with funding your childcare whilst you claim Child Tax Credits.
- Support and advice on claiming Tax Credits and other benefits.
- Assistance with CVs, applications forms etc.
- Support with managing your money.
- Access to voluntary work or training courses to help build your skills, experience and confidence and helping sort out your childcare so you can go to work.
- Help with childcare crisis so you don't lose your job.
- Help to get the support you need for your particular situation.

Working for Families is part of Midlothian Training Services, Midlothian Council and the office is based in the centre of Dalkeith, details are below.
How to apply for a place?
You may be eligible to register with Working for Families if you are:
- Parents or carers of children under 16 living in Midlothian with childcare responsibilities.
- Receiving 'working families tax credit' allowance.
- Unemployed or trying to keep a job or improve earnings.
- A parent with other stresses in the household.
You should telephone to arrange an appointment, on the number below with one of our Key Workers who will check your eligibility and register you for the service.
