STEM - Services in Training and Employment in Midlothian
What type of service do STEM offer, and who to?
The STEM team provide support for adults 16 years upwards who have a sensory, physical, learning and or mMental health disability and who are in receipt of Disability Living Allowance.
The main purpose of the STEM service is to support and enable an individual to access some form of vocational opportunity, work experience and or employment, and to assist, support and enable clients/individuals to develop the skills and ability required to get closer to gaining and sustaining employment.
Where is STEM?
STEM is part of Midlothian Training Services, Midlothian Council and the office is based in the centre of Dalkeith.
How to apply for a STEM service?
You can be referred by a social worker, support worker, any other agency, family member or refer yourself.
You can collect a referral form from the office in Eskdaill Court or phone for one to be sent out to you. Once we have received your completed referral form requesting our service, your form will be placed on a waiting list until a worker can be allocated to work with you.
