The Penicuik to Dalkeith Walkway
The Penicuik to Dalkeith Walkway is a 9.5mile route passing through many of Midlothian's historic towns and villages along the former Edinburgh to Peebles railway line. The gentle gradient and nature of the route allows easy access for walkers, cyclists and horse riders.

- Tarred surfacing from Rosewell to Dalkeith, whin surface from Rosewell to Penicuik
- Route signage following Regional Cycle Route 73 by SUSTRANS
- Picnic sites at Roslin Glen, Lea Farm and Rosewell
