Food Hygiene Information Scheme

The Food Hygiene Information Scheme (FHIS) allows consumers to get information about the standards of hygiene in food businesses in Midlothian.

The Scheme has been developed by the Food Standards Agency in Scotland with the support of consumer organisations, industry and local authorities.

The scheme gives each food premises a Pass or Improvement Required rating based on the last food hygiene inspection.  Businesses can display their rating certificate at the premises. The ratings for all premises are available on the web.
