Grit bins

The Council has over 430 grit bins for treating roads and footpaths during the winter months.

New grit bins are placed in locations which meet the criteria agreed by the Head of Commercial Operations. These locations are at or near entrances to medical centres, doctors surgeries, care homes, sheltered housing, and residential streets or junctions that are on steep inclines.
