Respite and short breaks
You can give the person caring for you and yourself the chance of a short break or respite from caring.
There are different options depending on your needs and preferences.
Respite care
You can stay for a few days in a care home with the advantage of staff available day and night.
Care in your own home
You may also have trained carers to support you in your own home. There are a number of agencies in Midlothian and the following ones are approved by the Council - Crossroads, SCRT, Housecall and Alzheimer Scotland.
How to arrange respite care
If you want to arrange a short break, or need care and support, ask us for advice or to assess your needs.
Or you can request these services online and someone will contact you to assess your needs.
You may also be interested in direct payments to make your own arrangements.
