04/03/2012: Revised timetable to maintain reliability. On Saturday mornings, there is a slight thinning out of the frequency prior to 0900.

04/03/2012: There are no changes to journeys within the Midlothian section on the regular timetable. However, a new Holiday Special service will operate on public holidays (except Christmas and New Year) plus days between Christmas and New Year when a Saturday service operates on most routes. On Holiday Special days, morning journeys from the city and late afternoon journeys from Penicuik will run via both Roslin and the Bush to provide a peak-only service via the Bush (when currently no service runs).

05/03/2012: The Monday to Friday off-peak timetable is revised. Journeys that currently operate to and from Mayfield will be curtailed to terminate at Gilmerton Terminus. Peak-time journeys will continue to serve Mayfield as per the current timetable.

05/03/2012: X31 buses from Brixwold will run around Hopefield before heading for the city. Times will be adjusted to better coordinate with service 31 buses. The X31 will call at all stops from Salisbury Place to Haymarket (currently Surgeons' Hall to Haymarket).

NEW SERVICE

Baberton - Westburn - Longstone - Balgreen - Haymarket - Princes St - Bridges - Commonwealth Pool - Cameron Toll - ERI - Danderhall - Sheriffhall Park and Ride (peak extensions to Dalkeith - Dalkeith Heights - Dalkeith Campus on Mondays to Fridays)

05/03/2012: This service will  be extended into Midlothian to cover the withdrawal of the 48 and X48 services. 33 journeys will run at comparable times to the 48/X48 buses over the Dalkeith extension, except that they will run Mon-Fri only and not at all on Saturdays. At peak times the 33 will run every 10-12 minutes from Sheriffhall to the city, reducing to every 15 minutes in the off-peak. Coordinated with the 49 that also runs every 15 minutes, this will give a Lothian bus every 7-8 minutes in the off-peak. Late evening and Sunday 33s will turn at Fernieside (just south of the ERI) but service 49 will continue to provide links to Danderhall and Sheriffhall Park and Ride at these times.

04/03/2012: A revised timetable will be introduced to maintain reliability. On Sundays the hourly 47 (currently running between the city and Straiton Park and Ride) will be extended southwards to Penicuik Ladywood, reinstating the link between Penicuik and the A701 Retail Corridor (ASDA, IKEA, Sainsbury's, Straiton Retail Park). The Sunday extension is introduced on a trial basis - use it or lose it!

03/03/2012: Service runs for the last time - it is withdrawn after today. See Service 33 for details of a replacement facility over the Midlothian section of route.

05/02/2012 : Short distance journeys of less than 50 kms no longer possible due to deregistration of the service. The coach service will continue to carry passengers travelling further than 50 kms.

27/02/2012 : Introduction of new National Express timetable across the UK. Awaiting final details of successor service for the 383 from National Express.
