Wind Energy Development

In summer 2006 Midlothian Council appointed an independent landscape architect to undertake an assessment of the capacity of Midlothian's landscape to successfully absorb wind energy development.

The study's findings were endorsed by Midlothian Council's Cabinet in March 2006 and used to inform relevant energy policies of the Midlothian Local Plan.

The findings of the study will be a material consideration in the determination of planning applications for wind energy development in Midlothian.
