Community planning
What is Community Planning?
Community Planning helps public agencies work with the community to deliver better services. We want to make a real improvement to the quality of people's lives.
The aims of Community Planning in Scotland are:
- Making sure people are involved in the decisions made on public services that affect them
- A commitment from organisations to work together to provide better public services
There are two further principles:
- Community Planning is a partnership that helps to coordinate initiatives and simplify arrangements. This means resources can be pooled, reducing costs.
- Community Planning aims to improve the connection between national priorities and those at regional, local and neighbourhood levels.
