Bookbug's baby pack

For babies aged 6-16 weeks

Bookbug's Baby Pack is a fantastic introduction to sharing books with your baby from birth.

Bookbug books

The pack consists of:

  • Fair Trade canvas shoulder bag
  • 2 board books - bright, durable and safe for little hands and mouths!
  • Bookbug Baby Parent's Guide - a publication featuring interesting articles and expert advice to help you enjoy books with your child from an early age
  • Bookbug's Music CD - a collection of music and songs from around the world
  • Bookbug Poster - a beautifully illustrated poster by Debi Gliori

Packs are gifted to babies by their Health Visitor at their developmental check at around 6 - 16 weeks.

If you have not received a pack, please contact your Health Visitor or ask at your local library.

Bookbug's toddler pack

For toddlers aged 13-24 months

Bookbug's Toddler Pack aims to capture your child's attention and get them excited about reading and exploring books.

The pack consists of:

  • Fair Trade canvas shoulder bag
  • 2 picture books - a little longer than the Bookbug Baby Pack but equally as engaging
  • My Storybook - a blank story book for early mark making
  • Bookbug Crayons - a pack of chunky crayons
  • Bookbug Toddler Parent's Guide - a publication filled with book sharing information and advice on reading with your child
  • Poster - designed by Debi Gliori, with well-known fairytale characters to spot

Packs are gifted to toddlers by their Health Visitor, usually at their MMR

Bookbug's pirate pack

For 3 year olds

Bookbug's Pirate Pack aims to engage your child's adventurous side and spark their imagination.

The pack consists of:

  • Child sized canvas bag with small handles so your child can carry the bag themselves.
  • 2 age appropriate picture books
  • Metal pencil case, including coloured pens, pencils and a pencil sharpener
  • Set of 5 large postcards -ideal for sending to friends and family as your child explores writing
  • Pirate hat - decorate and enjoy!
  • Bookbug Pirate Parent's Guide - filled with information on book sharing as well as early mark making and numeracy.

Bookbug Pirate Packs are gifted by your child's ante-preschool setting.

If your child doesn't attend such a group then you can pick up a pack at your local library.

P1 Book

All children in Primary 1 will receive a book with a message from the Bookbug. This years' book is What the ladybird heard, by Julia Donaldson.

What the ladybird heard is gifted through your child's school during their first year.
