Aids and adaptations

Equipment and adaptations

If you have difficulty managing daily living activities, you can contact us to request a visit from the occupational therapy service or apply for these services online.

Following an assessment of need, some items of equipment may be provided on long term loan from the community equipment store.

In most cases our driver will contact you to arrange delivery, fit and demonstrate the equipment for you. For more specialist items the Occupational Therapist will visit again once the item has been delivered.

Small items of equipment that are easily found in shops are not supplied and advice can also be given on where you may purchase items locally.

Uplifting equipment

If you are looking to return equipment, which belongs to us, please phone 0131 271 8928 and we will arrange for it to be collected.

Occupational Therapy services

We work with adults, older people and children who have a physical, mental or learning disability, are frail or unable to manage activities of daily living that we all take for granted, and their carers.

We enable you to remain independent in the community. This may be required on a temporary basis or as a more permanent solution to long-standing difficulties.

The type of help we provide may range from simple requests for information, equipment, minor adaptations to more major adaptations.

Most of these services can only be arranged following a care assessment.
