Libraries local collections

We are pleased to answer enquiries and will always try our best to help you. Please try to be as specific as you can about your enquiry. You do not have to be resident in Midlothian to use the service.

Appointments

Appointments are not required for visits in person, but it is always helpful to contact us in advance so that we can prepare material for you. Some of the collection is stored offsite and may take several days to recover for you.

There is a queuing system in operation and enquiries will be dealt with as quickly as possible.

Charges

There is no charge for using the service, apart from copying and scanning. Please note that we are unable to undertake detailed research on your behalf.

Guided tours

Guided tours of Local Studies can be organised for groups, classes and local history societies.
