The Welfare Rights Service

The Welfare Rights Service in Midlothian came together through Midlothian Financial Inclusion Network, a grouping of council and voluntary sector advice agencies.

We employ 3 Income Maximisation Officers and 2 Welfare Rights Officers who assist people with Benefit matters.

The Income Maximisation Officers accept referrals from social workers, the Welfare Rights Officers offer assistance to the general public regarding problems with the complexity of the benefit system.

The council funds general advice services delivered by our partners Penicuik and Dalkeith Citizens Advice Bureaux.
