We gather a variety of information about our performance and the quality of our services in order to take action to improve.

Midlothian supports the concept of benchmarking - where we compare performance against other councils facing similar challenges - and is involved in the national benchmarking project, led by SOLACE (Society of Local Authority Chief Executives), COSLA (Convention of Scottish Local Authorities) and the Improvement Service (IS).
