About Midlothian
Less than 10 miles south of Edinburgh city centre and with a population of around 80,000 people, Midlothian is a county of contrasts - steeped in history with its diverse historical buildings and picturesque mining villages, yet attracting new developments, both residential and commercial.
It is one of the 32 council areas of Scotland.
It is bordered by Edinburgh, East Lothian and the Scottish Borders.
