Additional support needs for learning

We are committed to working positively with parents, carers, schools and partnership agencies to continue to provide high quality support for children with additional support needs, to reduce barriers to learning and to maximise achievement.

Our Educational Support Teams

• The Disabilities and Specialist Teaching Team, which provides specialist teaching support for children and young people with autistic spectrum disorders, hearing impairment, English as an additional language, gypsy travellers, young children with more complex additional support needs
• The Educational Psychology Service which has an advisory role within the council, offering support to children and young people, their families and their carers, school staff and others working with children and young people.
