Hawthornden Support Service
What is Hawthornden Support Service?
All Midlothian schools have services that support children and young people with additional support needs.
We are a service which provides additional support for Primary school-aged children from across Midlothian who have social, emotional and behavioural needs.
The children using the service attend Hawthornden Primary School and are supported there by a specialist team, led by a Principal Teacher, made up of Teachers, Childcare Development Workers and Learning Assistants.
The children are full members of Hawthornden Primary School and are taught in mainstream classes and in the base.
The Head Teacher is in charge of the support services.
