Hopefield / St Andrew's Support Service

What is Hopefield / St Andrew's Support Service?

All Midlothian schools have services that support children and young people with additional support needs.

Hopefield and St Andrew's Primary schools provide additional support for Primary-aged children from across Midlothian who have autistic spectrum disorder and who will benefit from access to mainstream curriculum.

The children using the service attend support classes which are an integral part of each school.

The support team, led by a Principal teacher, is made up of teachers, Childcare Development Workers and Learning Assistants.  There is regular support from a Speech and Language Therapist.

The Head Teacher of each school manages the support service on a day-to-day basis.
