Cuiken Support Service

All Midlothian schools have services that support children and young people with additional support needs.  

We are an additional service which provides small group teaching and support for Primary school aged children from across Midlothian, who has social, emotional and behavioural needs.

The children using the service attend a base within in Penicuik.  There are a maximum of 8 children.

The support team, led by a Principal Teacher is made up of Teachers, Learning Assistants, and Family Support Workers. 

The service is a partnership between the education authority and Children 1st.

The Head Teacher is in charge of the service on a day-to-day basis.
