Applying for a council house in Midlothian
New Allocation Policy April 2013
- A revised Housing Allocation Policy has been drafted to better reflect the changing housing needs in Midlothian. It provides a clear framework for prioritising applicants based on housing need as set out in the Housing (Scotland) Act 2001 and aims to provide affordable, quality housing for people in need.
- The policy is based on a 'Group and Points Model' to meet the aims for housing needs groups and reintroduces lettings targets to ensure fair access to housing.
