Council joins Supplier Development Programme

We have signed up to the Supplier Development Programme, which helps small and medium-sized businesses improve their performance in winning public sector contracts.

The Supplier Development Programme (SDP) is a local authority partnership programme established to help small and medium-sized businesses improve their performance in winning contracts with public sector organisations.

The Programme offers advice, information, training and funding support with the aim of assisting businesses to become more capable of accessing and competing for public sector contracts.

Because Midlothian Council has signed up to the programme, small and medium-sized businesses located in Midlothian can now access SDP services free of charge.

Public sector spending on goods and services across Scotland amounts to over £9bn per year. The SDP provides useful and relevant advice regardless of whether a business is pitching for a public sector contract at the national or local level.
