Scott Riddell, Midlothian Council’s Rugby Development Officer, has been selected in the Scotland 7s Squad for the forthcoming Glasgow 7s and London 7s.

Scott, who has 18 caps and 16 tries for Scotland 7s, works in Midlothian to help clubs and players of all ages develop their game.

Playing for your country is the pinnacle of many sports. It takes hard work and dedication to get to that position, plus a healthy dose of natural talent. The experience of running out in a national jersey is invaluable.

Local rugby players, clubs and schools have been tapping into that knowledge thanks to the Council's rugby development officer Scott Riddell. Scott, who joined the Council's sports development team in 2011, draws on his international experience in his work with the county's rugby community.
