Council-community partnership to try and save ruined mansion
We've agreed a pact with Historic Scotland and community organisations to try to restore historic Mavisbank House, near Loanhead.
The Mavisbank House Trust plans to raise £12m from public, private and charitable sources to save the mansion.
The Scottish Government has announced a £500,000 grant for the scheme, which involves Midlothian Council compulsorily purchasing the house and its grounds.
