The Olympic Torch is travelling the UK and people in Midlothian are being asked to let Midlothian Council know their plans for any special events to celebrate Thursday, 14 June.
Pupils and people from across Midlothian are expected to line the designated route and cheer on the Olympic Torch as it passes through Midlothian on the day.
If you are planning a special event on 14 June let us know at olympictorch@midlothian.gov.uk. The council is pulling together a list of all the events and celebrations. This is also an opportunity to ensure events planned on the route or on the diversions don't impede the Torch Relay.
Parking will be prohibited on the route on the morning of 14 June. Due to the number of pupils who are expected to cheer on the Relay in Lasswade the south-bound lanes on Lasswade Road, High Street and Elm Row will be closed on the morning of 14 June. The north-bound lane, which is the way the Torch Relay will progress, will be open to the public until traffic is temporarily stopped as part of the Torch Relay rolling road closure.
