Help shape our Local Housing Strategy

Published on

We are reminding local residents to be sure to have their say on our new 5-year Local Housing Strategy before our consultation closes on 20 July.

A draft version of the strategy is available for download from our website. The final version of the strategy will be shaped largely by feedback received from local residents.

The draft strategy sets out how the Council plans to realise its vision for local housing - that all households in Midlothian will be able to access affordable, good quality housing in sustainable communities.

The draft strategy proposes five key outcomes, including improving housing options, tackling homelessness, improving housing conditions, reducing fuel poverty and ensuring appropriate accommodation is available for households with additional needs.

Residents have until the consultation closes on Friday 20 July to have their say. The consultation is open to all residents - whether you own your home or rent, whether you live in a house or a flat and whether you are a private or a council tenant.
