Our annual Sports Awards are a celebration of the valuable role sport plays in our communities.
The event, which honours local sporting stars of all ages, has grown to become a real highlight of the sporting calendar. We introduced the Sports Awards in 1996 to acknowledge outstanding sporting achievement by local individuals and teams.
This year's awards ceremony will take place at the Council Chambers in Dalkeith on Friday 19 October.
Nominations
Everyone is welcome to nominate their favourite local sporting figure for an award. Awards will be given in the following categories:
- Junior Sports Personality (under 18)
- Senior Sports Personality (over 18)
- Junior Team Award (under 18s)
- Senior Team Award (over 18s)
- Coach of the Year
- Service to Local Sport
- Volunteer of the Year
The deadline for nominations is Friday 14 September.
