A games area in the playground of Lawfield Primary School in Mayfield, Dalkeith, has been cordoned as a precautionary measure because of excess surface water run-off from neighbouring fields.
Lawfield, a public private partnership school maintained by SKANSKA, will open as normal on Monday 22 October.
However, the south east corner of the school playground, including the games area and one entrance, has been cordoned off until the issue is resolved.
To mitigate against any potential health risks, a strict hand washing regime will be in place for staff and pupils. Pupils should also bring indoor shoes, if possible.
We are working with SKANSKA to resolve the problem as soon as possible.
