Based at Lasswade High School, you will provide support to the teaching staff in the Science Department and supervise Technicians across the school in order to achieve the school’s aim of providing an effective learning environment for the students.

Duties will include preparing materials, equipment and science areas for use by teachers and students ensuring that equipment is maintained with adequate levels of materials available. You will assist the teaching staff in demonstrating and operating specialist apparatus and equipment. You will monitor the safety of all equipment in the science areas, and must demonstrate a sound knowledge of relevant Health and Safety Regulations.

Excellent communication skills together with experience of staff supervision are essential in order to establish and maintain effective working relations with staff and students. You must have an HNC in a Science subject or an SVQ Level 3 in Laboratory Technology or equivalent. In addition, you should have significant relevant post qualifying experience.
