BrowseAloud adds speech, reading, and translation tools to the page. It makes content more accessible for people with dyslexia, literacy problems, English as a second language, and mild visual impairments.
Using the buttons on the toolbar, you can:
BrowseAloud reads text on a webpage out loud. The options:
BrowseAloud translates a page into 99 languages and can speak aloud 40 of those.
BrowseAloud converts text that you select in a page into an audio file. You can then listen to it later on.
This lets you apply a colour filter to your screen. A semi-opaque mask extends across the screen, leaving a letterbox reading window so you can focus on a few lines at a time.
You can magnify the text as it's being read aloud. You can set the font, size and colour to suit your needs (in the settings).
This removes clutter and distractions, like pictures and adverts, letting you focus on the text you want to read.
