We want your views on proposals that could affect how pupils are admitted to St David’s Roman Catholic High School in the future. -
Outcome
The consultation findings will be considered by councillors at a full Council meeting later this year (2026). We will share the outcome on this page, on our Citizen Space survey page and on Facebook and X.

Summary
There are two main proposals:
• To clearly define the catchment area for St David’s Roman Catholic High School. This would help families better understand whether their home address is within the school’s area.
• To change the admissions arrangements for denominational (faith-based) secondary schools. Currently there is only one in Midlothian, St David’s.
If approved, these changes would start from August 2027, or as soon as possible after that.

Meetings and drop-in sessions
You can also join one of our online drop-in sessions or attend a public meeting to ask questions and hear more about the proposals. There are several dates in May and June, including daytime and evening sessions.
