Health and safety training - Safe Manual Handling Techniques (objects only)

Introduction

This course is aimed at all staff that have to carry out lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of objects during the course of their work. Please note that this course does not cover moving and handling of persons.
Course details
This course will give you the necessary skills and confidence to lift, carry and move objects safely. The course will give you an appreciation of legal requirements and an understanding of the principles and practice of safe manual handling.

The course covers:
- Legal framework
- Principles of safe manual handling, (objects only)
- Adverse health effects
- Implementing control measures
- The correct safe handling and lifting techniques
- Practical demonstration and practice
The course includes handouts and a number of practical exercises, which include individual and group participation.
On successful completion

You will be awarded a ‘Safe Manual Handling Techniques’ attendance certificate.
