Scotland's Employer Recruitment Incentive (SERI)
What is SERI?
Scotland's Employer Recruitment Incentive (SERI) is a grant for employers who offer employment opportunities, including a Modern Apprenticeship, to unemployed young people.
It offers employers up to £4,000 when their company commits to a new job or new Modern Apprentice.
The funding is a contribution toward the additional costs of recruiting and sustaining a young person for their first 52 weeks of sustainable employment. If the company pays the young person the living wage there will be an additional payment of £500.
The incentive is funded by the Scottish Government, and is managed and delivered by Local Authorities.
How can a company apply for a SERI grant?
We have been awarded seven SERI places for 2018-19. Places will be awarded on a first-come first-served basis.
You need to download and fill in two forms:
- SERI Employer Application Form (MS Word)
- SERI Employer Agreement with Midlothian Council Form (MS Word)
