Joint strategy for older people
This strategy is about improving the lives of people aged over 65 years of age living in Midlothian.
The strategy has been developed by the Joint Older People’s Planning Group through consulting and engaging with people in that age group.
These stakeholders include volunteers, carers and representatives from community organisations and health and social care services.
Through public consultations and conversations a list of priorities were identified, developed and agreed by all involved. How we will meet these priorities is detailed within the Joint strategy for older people in Midlothian.
Over the next 20 years the number of people over 75 years of age is expected to double and the number of people over 90 years of age is expected to treble. This strategy sets out our approach to working with, encouraging and supporting older people as the population grows.
