National Volunteers' Week

Gina Clark

During National Volunteers’ Week, we want to thank volunteer co-ordinators, who can sometimes work behind the scenes and maybe not get the recognition they deserve. A fantastic example is Gina Clark. While holding down a full-time job as a community development worker with the Army’s welfare service based in Penicuik, Gina somehow manages to chair the local Resilience Group, which oversees community support from various local groups, including the Penicuik Ambassadors. Gina, who also chairs the community council, is herself a Penicuik Ambassador and co-ordinates the work of ambassadors, helping making sure local people in need are getting shopping, medication and other supports. And with a two-year-old also to look after, it’s amazing Gina finds enough hours in the day. Well done to everyone who co-ordinates volunteers. Like Gina, you are all doing a sterling job.
