Spaces for People
Lamp post cycle safety banners in town centres
This proposal was not approved for funding.
As more people are walking and cycling for exercise, we want to ensure adequate social distancing. We propose installing ‘give me space’ cycle signs to remind people to respect all road users and social distancing rules.
We propose supplying and installing 40 “give me space” cyclist lamp post banners on main approaches to town centres in Midlothian.
This project supports key- and essential workers as well as the general public. It focuses on generating and maintaining safe social distancing on roads for walking and cycling as a mode of transport. It also allows more space for recreational walking and cycling. It will benefit commuters and leisure cyclists across Midlothian.
This project will cost £13,200.
