Improved social distancing on footpaths through cut-back vegetation
Many footways and multi user paths across Midlothian have vegetation encroaching or overhanging, so restricting their overall width. If vegetation is not removed, there’s a risk of not attaining the 2 metre social distance.
We propose to cut back and remove vegetation to ensure paths are wide enough for social distancing.
A survey is ongoing to establish which routes need this so we can start the cutting and removal as soon as possible.
We plan to ensure path widths are adequate for social distancing in public parks and active travel routes. Hence this benefits the general public across Midlothian.
The cost for this project is £11,000.
