Covid community testing
Testing in Scotland has changed. Lateral flow device (LFD) tests are now only available for specific groups of people when they do not have symptoms.
Most people in Scotland no longer need to test when they do not have coronavirus symptoms. Instead, LFD tests are now being used in a targeted way, to protect the most vulnerable.
If you are eligible, LFD tests can be ordered online or by phoning 119.
Find out more about who is eligible on the NHS Inform website.
People who have Covid symptoms, a fever or are what the Scottish Government describes as "too unwell to carry out normal activities" are being asked to stay at home until they feel better. Those under 18 with mild symptoms, such as a runny nose, who are otherwise well do not need to stay at home.
People who still take Covid tests, such as NHS workers, and get a positive result are still expected to isolate at home for five days after they took the test.
