Additional support for children and young people

Support for children and young people with ADHD

The Scottish Government have created a range of clinically researched programs to help you work through a specific mental health or wellbeing issue.

The Supporting a Child With ADHD programme has been designed for parents, carers and guardians looking after children aged 6 to 12 years of age who have been diagnosed with ADHD.

It is also suitable for carers of children on a waiting list for ADHD assessment or who display some of the symptoms of ADHD.

  • Learn about ADHD and how it can impact families. Consider different diagnosis journeys.
  • Explore the challenges associated with ADHD, as well as the strengths.
  • Understand concentration and various attention difficulties.
  • Increase your awareness of perfectionism and anxiety. Foster compassion and understanding.
