Sneak peek of the new Loanhead community facilities
First project in partnership with NHS Lothian
The project has started on site with Morrison Construction as the main contractor.
This is the first project to be developed in partnership with NHS Lothian through the Integrated Joint Board.
Facilities will include a new medical centre
As the fly through shows, the leisure centre will be incorporate a new primary school, after school/wrap around care, library, leisure centre, medical centre, early years provision and external work.
The Director of Health and Social Care, Eibhlin McHugh said: “We are delighted that this exciting partnership project has reached construction stage and presents a new relationship in Midlothian in public sector bodies working together to improve services for our communities.”
Homes planned for existing Paradykes site
Meanwhile, plans are underway to build homes on the existing site for Paradykes Primary, Loanhead Library and Loanhead Medical Centre (known as Sutherland House).
Work to replace Roslin Primary and replace the grass pitch with an all-weather facility began on 13 June 2016.
