Help Make your Community Safer

From 1 April 2017, the new Community Justice (Scotland) Act 2016 comes into effect and introduces a new model to reduce offending and re-offending and make communities safer.

Community Justice is a way of preventing and reducing crime, making people feel safer in their communities and enabling people to be good citizens.

To help make the new model succeed in our county the Midlothian Community Safety and Justice Partnership has carried out a survey designed to gather the opinions of local residents on key issues to make Midlothian a safe place to live, grow up in, work and visit.

The collated results will help us shape the proposed plan which will then be put out to the public for consultation and it is important that everybody has the opportunity to participate.

The closing date for the submission of your views was 16 October and the collated results will help us shape the proposed plan which will then be put out to the public for consultation and it is important that everybody has the opportunity to participate.

If you would like more information please contact Hamish Fraser or Nicola Bruce at CSJP@midlothian.gov.uk  or by telephone on 0131 561 5216 or 0131 270 6732.
