Interested in being on a music tuition working group?

Parents, carers, pupils and members of the wider community are invited to sit on a Midlothian Council working group to make sure as many young people as possible can benefit from instrumental music tuition while reducing the significant budget gap.

Requested by parents

Initial meetings to set up a joint working group, which has been requested by local parents, will be held on Friday 4 October at 3pm at Lasswade High School and Wednesday 9 October at 7pm at Newbattle High School.

Working Together Group

The initial focus of the Working Together Group, which will also include three music instructors, will be:

  • Streamlining application and payment processes
  • Increasing numbers taking music tuition through targeted promotion of spaces available
  • Attracting sponsorship and funding, including for the Usher Hall concert performance
  • Introducing an instrument amnesty and donations

Get in touch

Anyone interested in coming along to either of the dates suggested should contact the council’s Strategic Service Redesign Manager Annette Lang to advise which one you plan to attend.
