A journalist for 20 years with a Scottish Sunday newspaper he now delights an audience of crime fiction lovers. Craig has reported on famous stories including Dunblane, 9/11 and the disappearance of Madeline McCann. He spent time visiting death row and beat Oprah Winfrey on a major scoop. His gritty crime books set in Glasgow include 'Random', 'Snapshot', 'Cold Grave', 'Witness the Dead' and 'The Last Refuge'.

'Murder at the Ravenswick Hotel' for Book Week Scotland

Popular crime-writer Ann Cleeves has created a Shetland-themed grisly murder mystery which will be played out in Midlothian Libraries especially for Book Week Scotland.

“My first thought was that there was a lot of blood on the very expensive rug where she was lying...”

A woman has been murdered in the Ravenswick hotel library and it’s your task to find the killer.

Come along to the library where you’ll meet the suspects, assess the forensic report and try to identify the murderer and the motive. Your host for the evening will set the scene and introduce the suspects, all you need to do is listen to their monologues, consider the forensic report and then chat with other members of the audience to help you decide who you think the murderer is.

If you wish to try your hand at solving this crime, contact the library of your choice to book your free place. And remember not to spoil the surprise once you’ve discovered who is guilty!
