Brown bins

Brown wheeled bins are offered for the collection of garden waste from households served by the grey bin collection service who have a garden area to maintain.

They are collected fortnightly from March until November, as part of the Alternate Weekly Collection (AWC) with grey bins. No brown bin collections are offered during December. One collection is offered per month in January and February.

All bins must be presented at the kerbside by 07:00 on your collection day.

All garden waste must be contained within thee bin and the weight of the bin must not prevent free movement by collection staff. Additional sacks presented outside the bin will not be collected.

Excess garden waste

If you have additional garden waste or large items that will not fit in your brown bin, these can be recycled at one of our Community Recycling Centres. For information on locations and opening times please view the Community Recycling Centre pages.
